    WHY SHOULD YOU PARTICIPATE?

Every child deserves an education and an opportunity to achieve their dreams. Our foundation has been offering educational scholarship and support since 2008.  In many developing countries K-12 is not free. Children have to pay tuition and purchase uniforms to attend. It is the goal of LAMB Foundation to ease the burden on families of students that excel in the classroom.

Please check out the highlights and information from 2015.

From this match we are pleased to announce that several athletes have been awarded scholarships to play in the US, and have already started on their first semester at their schools.

We hope to see more athletes, have more university coaches present, and secure even more scholarship for the upcoming year.

  • LAMB Camp 2013 Jamaica

    Picture

Another year has gone by and we have come to the end of another summer which means we had the privilege of hosting our 2nd annual LAMB Camp in Jamaica for 2013. The kids turned up bright and early in the morning and camp was on its way. The camp hosted kids from a variety of schools and covered all aspects of the game from passing, defense, blocking to hitting.

We also had a discussion session with the campers where they were made aware of what it takes and what they need to do to get to the next level by our founder and camp director Lecia Brown, who is a member of the Jamaica National Volleyball Team and a former professional player that played 2 season in Poland winning MVP and #1 blocker titles. The camp saw awards going to Erica Harris, Cavell Williams, Ronalee Thompson, Sodeika Smith and our most outstanding camper of the day went to Avielle Jones.

We here at LAMB Inc would like to say a big thank you to all the people that made LAMB Camp in Jamaica a big success again this year. A big shout out goes UWI for stepping up at the last minute to provide the venue to host the camp, because of a minor issue with the previously booked venue we had to change venues in the end.

    SPECIAL THANK YOU

We would like to say a special thank you to all our donors that donated to make LAMB Camp 2013 Jamaica a success. To all our campers that showed up and showed out to make the camp possible and to our volunteers and coaches that devoted their time and energy to helping the kids develop their skills for the game that they love. We all say thank you.

  • LAMB Camp 2013: Kenya

    Picture

Although due to unforeseen reason, LAMB Camp was not able to work in Senegal (UGB campus) as expected, there was a great opportunity presented to be able to launch the camp in Kenya.

On July 20, 2013, LAMB Foundation partnered with the Member of Parliament (MP) Honorable Wesley Korir of the Cherangany Constituency and also the founder of Kenyan Kids Foundation to begin a journey of promoting volleyball across Kenya.

They said a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step, and that is exactly what this camp is set out to do. The camp hosted 45 girls and 1 boy at Kipkeikei High School. We explored the basics and fundamentals of volleyball from blocking, to passing, serving and the steps needed to attack.

3 different schools and 1 neighborhood were represented at the camp. Students from Kipteudeh Secondary, Potwa Secondary, IDP camp and the host school Kipkeikei High were present. The outstanding students of the day were announced as Violah Chepkemai, Bartrobah Chesang, and Stellah Chepkemboi.

After long deliberation pre and post camp we have established a committee of individuals dedicated to making LAMB camp more than just 1 annual event. We plan to dispurse specialty skills throughout the league tournaments each year. At certain tournaments representatives from LAMB Committee will provide 2-hour sessions (Saturday and Sunday) to build the fundamentals of volleyball with the youth. Each year we will then follow up with our annual camp to bring forth the best of the camp participants to learn additional skills and find opportunity for advancing in volleyball.

See more photos by clicking here.

The names committee is as follows:

Chairman/Co-Chairman: Lecia Brown & Hon. Dan Wanyama

    Secretary: Vivian Sum

    Coordinator: Jacob Cheluget

Coaches: Hosea Kemboi, Coach Kibet, Israel Cheruiyot Rutto, Martin Ochieng

Technical Advisors:  Salamba Miendo, Evans Wasike, Hon. Wesley Korir, Kogo Josphat

    SPECIAL THANK YOU

With the support of key individuals we would like to extend a special thank you to  Hon. Wesley Korir, Hon. Dan Wanyama (MP of Wiyube Constituency, past General Secretary and Captain of the Kenyan Men National Team), Kenya Volleyball Federation (through the help of the General Secretary Mr. Evans Wasike,  and the head of referees of CAVB Salamba Miendo). We would also like to thank Jacob Cheluget and Josphat Kogo (Residents of Cherangany) for the great help and coordination of the entire day.

We would like to thank Kipkeikei High School for providing us the venue, and the different schools for allowing their teams to participate in the event.

In addition, we would like to thank volunteers that represented their specific areas or teams such as Kisumu Volleyball club headed by Martin Ochieng through their donations of a net for the cause as well as their time in making it to the camp. We would also like to thank Kenya Prison Men Volleyball team for supporting with the assistant coach providing his time and knowledge.

We also had special guests from University of Louisville Medicine, who travelled to work in clinics in the Cherangany area. We would like to thank Justine Landi and Kate Williams for taking the time to share their wisdom and skills with LAMB Foundation.

  • Camp in Senegal

Due to unforeseen circumstances the camp in Senegal has been cancelled. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to anyone who had made plans to attend the camp.

    Sorry again.

  • Premier Annuelle LAMB Volley-ball Camp au Senegal

In 2012, LAMB first partnered with the Universite of Gaston Berger men volleyball team. After seeing the need to spread volleyball especially among young girls in the area we decided we needed to make this our priority in St. Louis.

We plan to initiate LAMB Volleyball Camp on Sunday, July 14 2013, at the Universite of Gaston Berger as a one-day camp. For the inaugural staging of the camp, we would like to work with the men’s volleyball team coached by Moussa Diop as the coaches. Our plan is to work with young female players to promote volleyball in St. Louis.

The LAMB Inc camp offers a more pragmatic approach to learning the various aspects of volleyball, as it not only introduces and expands on the basics of volleyball, but also surround the players with avenues to see success in volleyball. Our camp will involve a live panel discussion with a high school volleyball team in the United States, as well as detailed discussion of the process to take the sport to the next level.

We are kindly asking you to support our LAMB Volleyball Camp on Sunday, July 14, 2013. We will be serving lunch, and a post practice meal. In addition, nourishment will be provided throughout the camp.  In addition, individuals who have financial issues may contact us to be compensated for their travels. We do not want the opportunity at hand to be missed because of an uncontrollable circumstance.

Thank you in advance. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact Lecia Brown via email at lamb@lambinc.org.

  • 2nd Annual LAMB Volleyball Camp in Jamaica.

For the second year, LAMB Foundation will be hosting a 18 and under volleyball camp. We would like to reach out to young, talented and athletic girls under the age of 18 years who embody the drive, dedication, passion and coach-able attitude to excel in the sport. We want to give these young talents the best possible outlet to obtaining a full scholarship by giving them one on one attention through our LAMB Inc camp.

We initiated LAMB Camp in August 2012, at the GC Foster College of Sports and Physical Education as a one-day camp. For the inaugural staging of the camp, we had a great group of young players and dedicated coaches. With the overall success achieved at the camp we wanted to give these players more time to develop.

We are kindly asking for player nominations with the potential to take volleyball to the next level. Please evaluate not only the players with the technical skills of volleyball but also through height, jumping ability, and quickness. We are also open to netball and basketball players interested in exploring volleyball having the qualities mentioned.

The camp will be held in Jamaica on August 16th and 17th, 2013. Due to the nature of our camp and our focus to have 2:1 player to coach ratio, we will not be able to host everyone. However, we hope that in the near future we can expand our camp to accommodate more athletes.

We will be serving lunch, and a post practice meal. In addition  nourishment will be provided throughout the camp.  In addition, individuals who have financial issues may contact us to be compensated for their travels. We do not want the opportunity at hand to be missed because of an uncontrollable circumstance.

If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact Lecia Brown via email at lamb@lambinc.org or Kamille Dwyer at +1-876-469-2549.

On August 10th, LAMB Camp launched the first camp for under 18 females at G.C. Foster College. The camp aims to help with the development of youth and junior volleyball in addition to opening their opportunities to universities.

The camp had 16 young women and 2 young men who energetically completed a day camp from 9 am to 5 pm. Photos will be uploaded soon at http://www.lambinc.org/lamb-camp-jamaica-2012.html as well as a fun bloopers video at http://youtu.be/9mQ9FqD_Vrg.

  • LAMB Camp: UGB Men Volleyball and the Future

After speaking with the president of administration for volleyball, director of volleyball, and the coach of the UGB men volleyball team. LAMB Inc plans to partner with them to promote volleyball among the youth and especially the men.

More information will follow as we tie the partnership agreement together this month. We must follow the protocol of the university and be approved by the vice chancellor.

Until then we are accepting donations of volleyballs, net, gym floor, and voluntary coaching services (Summer 2013) to help make this all possible.

  • LAMB Camp: UGB Men Volleyball

LAMB Inc has been working with Universite Gaston Berger (UGB) men volleyball since July 9th. We worked 3 hours in session as they prepare for their championship in Dakar on Saturday, July 14, 2012.

We continued working and playing together today in the morning before departing to Dakar this evening.

We will keep you posted on the future work they will be doing and results of the game.

  • LAMB Athletics: JaVA Development Centre

Last month The Jamaican Volleyball Association went out into many primary schools donating balls and offering volleyball skill training to coaches and students. This month that same outreach continues but in addition to the inauguration of the first court dedicated solely to the sport of volleyball.

This inauguration is set for January 31, 2011 as they bring in the new year with the JaVA Development Centre. As this centre gets on the way, it is important to note they need your help and support! As we continue to support the Youth Program we are still in need of balls, nets, antennas, and any other volleyball items you may have.

Do not hesitate to contact us lamb@lambinc.org or volleyjamaica@yahoo.com

Remember true success is success that changes you and the people around you.
